About Evan

My journey to the voice industry started all the way back in February of 2007.  I was surprised when my father told me about a voice acting workshop headed by Crispin Freeman, who we all know is the voice of Alucard of the Hellsing series.  Well, I went there and I actually got to do a bit of voice over, putting my lines in just a minute of a random anime for a random character – in this case, it was Scrapped Princess. Sure, I only did about three lines there, but it was that taste that got me craving more.  I later took another class with voice actress Sherri Berger.  While Crispin taught me what it’s like to record lines, Sherri taught me how to act while saying lines.  I will never forget her lessons.  I didn’t get my next taste of voice over until years laters when I was a junior in college and decided to take an actual college class in voice over.  Simply put, it was the most fun I’ve ever had.  I learned so much about the industry and how the process of voicing for radio and TV works.  After that, I was hooked.

My first real big break came when I was cast as Yuki Sohma in the radio drama adaptation of Fruits Basket on That Guy With The Glasses.  It was everything I ever dreamed; I was recording my lines and sending them to my producer, who edited them and compiled them.  Next thing I knew, I was hearing my rendition of Yuki Sohma with a bunch of other characters in a full blown radio drama.  It was at that moment that I fell in love with voice over.

Much later, I met up with my voice over teacher from college and she was able to help me create my own official voice demos using their tech.  The next thing I needed was to sign on with an agency.  I sent my demos to all of the agencies I could find in Chicago.  As luck would have it, DeSanti Models contacted me and wanted me with them.  I think I had a heart attack that day, but it was worth it.

Much time has passed and I got some credits under my belt and I even travel to conventions in the midwest area and give lectures on how to get into the voice acting industry.  I have so much fun doing them and I get to meet so many awesome people who are looking to learn about this fun job I have.

So now here I am.  I got my site, my demos, and everything I need to get going.  Here’s to an awesome journey of voice over!
