Yo, wassup!!

Anyway, I’m a day late in delivering this report, but I needed today to recover and to get other stuff done, but I’m here now, so let’s get this started.

Ahem!  So first off, I went to Maneki Neko Con yesterday.  It’s a small one day con at Prairie State College in Chicago Heights.  This was the con I told you about back in my report about Anime Midwest.  I met the main organizer of MN Con there and she wanted to invite me as a guest speaker since I’m a voice actor.

Anyway, things started out very well.  When I got there with a couple of my friends, I had to work for a while at the registration tables.  I needed to do this because I got my con badge for free, so I had to do something to contribute.  After spending some time there, I met back up with my friends and we mulled around a bit.  I went to a panel about the 101s of cosplay, which was fun because my friends ran it and I actually did learn some new things as well about cosplay.

1:00 pm soon came and that was the time for my panel.  This was my very first panel that I had ever done in my life.  I mean, I’ve done presentations at school before, but this was different.  I was shaking with excitement the whole time.  So when I entered in the room to get set up, people began to head right in.  I actually had a very good turnout for my panel, which just made my day right there.  I explained the whole basic process of trying to get in to the voiceover industry and how to go about making demos as well as hot tips on networking.  My audience seemed to enjoy it very much.

After that, my friends and I mulled around a bit some more, played some Card Games Against Humanity, things were still going well.  At around 4:00, we had to head around to where the masquerade was being held.  Now I was cosplaying as a samurai version of Link from Legend of Zelda and I was able to talk a friend of mine into being a ninja version of his fairy companion, Navi.  We both entered into the contest and we really strutted our stuff.  We strutted so well that we won Best Adult Showmanship!!  The two of us were squealing frequencies never heard of before.  After the contest was what I thought to be the best magic show I have ever seen, I was freaking out from everything I saw.

After all that, it was time to head home.  I did get home pretty late and the moment I walked through my door, I just fell down right on to my bed.  I had a lot of fun at that con and I can’t wait to go to my next con….which I still haven’t decided will be yet.  I think I may be done for the year, which means that my next cone will be C2E2 2013.

Well, that’s all I got.   Enjoy all these con photos I took.  The one with the big crowd in a classroom is me with my panel audience.  Enjoy!!…and sorry that some of my pics are sideways.
