Those who know me know that I really love to play video games.  I own a Wii, Ps3, 3ds, PSVita, my laptop has Steam and Origin, and I have a ton of emulators with games from old systems.   I still remember the time when games actually felt like games.  Back then we didn\’t have moral choice systems or awesome graphics or extremely compelling storylines. I\’m talking about the time when the developers didn\’t give a crap about realism.  Back then, we had bandicoots, purple dragons, very cartoony looking graphics, there were only 150 pokemon, and Rare was still making games for Nintendo.

Oh man, the games made by Nintendo/Rare might as well have been made by God himself.  Donkey Kong 64, Perfect Dark, Diddy Kong Racing, Jet Force Gemini, Conker\’s Bad Fur Day, FRIGGIN BANJO-KAZOOIE!!!  Those games were amazing.  Their design and feel were perfection and they followed a system that made me actually feel like I was doing something instead of just following a story.  Mostly, it was collecting stuff (bananas, jigsaw pieces, stars, and most likely there were 120 of said items.)  Sadly though, we don\’t get those kinds of games anymore……OR DO WE?!?!

SIT DOWN AND LET ME TELL YOU ABOUT A HAT IN TIME!!!

This is a game that is being funded on Kickstarter right now as we speak.  It\’s currently being developed by a group called Gears for Breakfast.  I personally have high hopes for this game because it vows to bring back the \”Collect-a-thon\” genre of gaming, much like the games that Nintendo and Rare made in the past.

The creator of the game said himself that he drew heavy inspiration from games like Super Mario 64, the N64 Legend of Zelda titles, and Banjo-Kazooie.  Also, I would like to point out that the art style of A Hat in Time looks very much like Zelda Wind Waker, another classic.

You all have no idea how excited I am for this game to come out.  They have already surpassed their Kickstarter goal and they are still getting so much funding.  Every goal reached adds something new to the game, such as a New Game + mode, co-op playing, Banjo-Kazooie speak (eekum Bookum) and so many others.

Head on over to Kickstarter now and give this game you money!!  You\’ll get the full details about the game there and what will happen if you give it your money!!  WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR?!
